In the 1980s I was introduced to the concept of visual books. During those first years, I was interested in publishing limited edition printed books. As an artist working with the Writer’s Center in Washington, DC, I was the recipient of part of a National Endowment for the Arts grant that helped me publish Arachne/Amaranth. That was the beginning of my fascination with book arts and bookmaking.
